Why skin flares in Spring - and what you can do about it

The changes in weather and increased pollen levels in spring can trigger redness and irritation.  As the temperatures rise and the days become longer increased sun exposure and fluctuating temperatures can trigger flare-ups.
Here's 4 tips to focus on nourishing and calming your skin:
1. Use a gentle cleanser: Opt for a mild, non-irritating cleanser to wash your face. Avoid harsh scrubs or exfoliants that can aggravate your skin.
2. Moisturize regularly: Keep your skin hydrated by using a moisturizer that is suitable for sensitive skin. Look for products that are fragrance-free and hypoallergenic.
3. Wear sunscreen: Protect your skin from harmful UV rays by applying a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher. Reapply every two hours, especially if you spend time outdoors.
4. Avoid triggers: Identify and avoid triggers that worsen your rosacea symptoms. These may include spicy foods, hot beverages, alcohol, and extreme temperatures.
